Usage: A Liebig condenser is the scientific name for a reverse flow single tube chiller. It consists of two tubes inside one another. The larger outer tube is plumbed from the lowest section to the highest section with water. This water condenses the vapour distillate which is rising vertically out of your still back down into liquid form in the innermost tube.
Features: There are different variations with multiple inner tubes like a shotgun condenser. But these Liebig styles are the most common in scientific labs in either glass or stainless steel. The inlets can be configured vertically or horizontally depending on your still set up.
Technical data: Overall length including 1/2" NPT fittings: 500mm. Outer tubing OD: 32mm. Inner tubing OD: 22mm. Fittings: 1/2" NPT. Wattage limit: 4000 watts (with 20°C coolant water at rate of 3.5L per minute exiting the condenser). The colder the water, the higher the wattage rating.
Warnings: This condenser does not come with a 1/2" Quick Swivel Cap to cap off the other side you're not using.
