Alcoengine Pot Still Distiller

This pot still design is created to enable separation of fine compounds that form the complex structure of many whiskies and gins. This iconic V-shaped distiller is designed to capture essential esters, aldehydes, and phenolic compounds necessary to give the final spirit a complexity that simply cannot be achieved any other way.

Alcoengine Pot Still
The entire system is designed to save time, money, and parts, fitting into one box to facilitate storage and reduce shipping costs. A pure pot still is used when you want the mash flavor to come through. For example, when fermenting berries or grain, it allows some of the flavor to enter the distillate. If you used a reflux still, you would simply get pure, flavorless vodka. Add flavors to your drinks with the Alcoengine distillation equipment!

Fast - 4.5 L/h with alcohol or 2.8 L/h with water
Full copper construction ensures flavor smoothness, equipped with a digital thermometer and easy to use.

Simply turn it on and collect your alcohol - nothing could be simpler! No more struggling with water flow rates! Some stills are complicated to use and require fine-tuning of cooling condenser water flow. In contrast, the Alcoengine design only needs minimal water flow rate and that's it. If you have enough coolant, it doesn't matter how fast the coolant flows through the still. This makes the still much easier to use than many other brands. It's very important to have at least 8 liters per minute after, not before, the condenser outlet. If using a pump, ensure it's a high-pressure pump capable of doing this. We recommend using tap water in Australia as our water pressure is around 6.9 bar.

The easiest still to use - that's our guarantee. This bulletproof design is so simple to use that we guarantee you'll get excellent spirit without wasting time. All you need to do is ensure sufficient water/coolant flow in the head and almost everything else takes care of itself.

Compatible with many boilers. This still design is compatible with many boiler types. One option is to get a pot, drill a 47mm hole in the lid, and this still fits effortlessly. The still also fits many standard boilers like standard Turbo Boilers, Robobrew, and our customers have confirmed it works with Grainfather too. This still also fits on stainless steel kegs. So you can easily make your keg boiler. You can use a 2-inch tri-clover clamp (not included) and attach the still to a 50-liter keg using the clamp. Thus, you won't find a more versatile still design that fits different types of boilers. It can do it all.

Full copper still. Unlike stainless steel stills and copper-plated stills, this still is made from solid copper. When your hot spirit contacts copper, the copper acts as a catalyst and removes sulfur from the spirit. This process means you get fewer "off-flavors" and simply better quality spirit. Copper is now an expensive metal and it certainly increases the cost of producing the still, but we can confidently say there's a very good reason it's preferred by many serious distillers, simply because the results are better. Don't listen to others who say stainless steel is best. There's no substitute for copper and such a still will last you a lifetime.

Easy assembly and setup. This still comes mostly assembled, but you'll still need to connect the garden hose and coolant. You can simply use your garden hose, but this wastes tap water, so we recommend getting at least a 500-liter capacity tank and then using a powerful circulation pump to run the still. We recommend one Ozito pump you can buy from Bunnings, or any other suitable high-pressure pump you can purchase separately. We don't recommend too small a pump as you need a reasonably powerful pump to push water through the condenser since there are many flow restrictions in the condenser head. Flow rate is not as important as high pressure/maximum pressure. When you get the still, you only need Teflon tape and attach the fittings as shown in this product's photos. Please ensure you connect all fittings and check for leaks before starting distillation. There's nothing worse than trying to attach a fitting when the still has already heated up.
