Product Description

These High Speed Steel (HSS) drill bits are ideal for drilling stainless steel pots, kegs and other products.

This particular size is ideal as it allows drilling holes up to 20mm, which is perfect for 1/2-inch threaded products commonly used in the home brewing industry. It can also drill holes up to 22mm, which is perfect for 5/8-inch products such as tap shanks.

This drill bit can also be used to drill pilot holes for the range of hole punches that we sell separately.

Usage Instructions

For best results when drilling in stainless steel or metal, ensure you drill slowly (less than 600 RPM). Apply significant pressure when drilling and use cutting lubricant both to lubricate the cut and to keep the bit and the metal you are cutting cool.

NOTE: If fast drilling speeds are used, the metal and bit will heat up, causing the bit to lose its hardness and not last as long.

Principle of using the drill bit: A stepped drill bit allows you to drill holes of various diameters with a single tool, without having to change drill bits. Start drilling with the smallest diameter and gradually move to a larger diameter as needed.
