Replacement Electrodes for pH Meter
Replacement electrode/sensor for pen-type pH meter. This is a replacement sensor for pen-type pH meters.
We know that home brewers use pH meters in quite harsh conditions. Placing electrodes/sensors directly into hot wort is common among home brewers. Such use can quickly reduce the sensor's lifespan.
Additionally, the sensor's thin glass membrane can easily get damaged if dropped or mishandled. Therefore, we recommend home brewers always purchase a pH meter for which replacement sensors can be bought separately.
This sensor type comes with a small sponge inside the cap. The sponge is pre-moistened with pH storage solution (KCl - 3 mol/L).
To keep the sensor in the best possible condition, it's crucial to keep the sensor tip moist with storage solution at all times. For the same reason, we've designed the sensor cap with a waterproof O-ring seal to prevent the solution from drying in the cap. This is an essential part of quality pH meter design. If the sensor dries out, it will significantly reduce the sensor's lifespan and measurement accuracy.
Usage: The pH meter is designed for precise measurement of liquid acidity or alkalinity. The replacement sensor should be installed according to the instructions included with the product. Before and after measurements, rinse the sensor with distilled water and always store it in special storage solution.
