Usage principle: The steam boiler is designed for the distillation process, where liquid is heated to separate and purify different components. The double-walled design allows for more uniform heat distribution, ensuring a more efficient and precise distillation process.

The distillation boiler is a cylindrical stainless steel vessel with a curved bottom welded onto it. For single-walled boilers, the bottom curves inward, and the center is equipped with a sectional stirrer that covers the entire bottom surface. The boilers are equipped with a 4-inch (114 mm diameter) drain ball valve.

Double-walled boilers are stainless steel vessels inserted into stainless steel tanks, forming an intermediate wall. Heating occurs through a water bath. These tanks are equipped with an excess pressure valve for safety, a vacuum valve, and a manometer. In double-walled boilers, the bottom bulges outward.

The boiler lid is always made of curved copper sheet, equipped with a 114 mm diameter filling neck with a filling ball valve, a DN250 inspection (cleaning) opening, and a flange for rectification extension. The lid of single-walled boilers is also fitted with a motor part to enable stirring. Stirring equipment can also be added to double-walled boilers for an additional charge.

The furnaces for these boilers are made of stainless steel materials, and the entire furnace is insulated, which prevents unwanted heat transfer and also reduces the risk of burns. For solid fuel furnaces, the system also includes a fire clay lining for the boiler basin and an ash collector. The chimney exhaust outlet diameter ranges from 160 to 200 mm. All external exposed parts are ground or patterned and polished to ensure a quality appearance and shine.

Solid fuel boilers are supplied in a standard version; for an additional charge, you may opt for electric or gas heating.

Motor stirring

This component is essential and very important device for single-walled boilers and is included in the base price of boiler. As it is always suitable to stir the raw material so we offer motor stirrer also for double-walled boilers (surcharge). Stirring speeds up distilling process and enables better releasing of aromatic substances from the raw material. Single-walled boilers have stirrer as a copper sectional band which copies and wipes bottom of distilling boiler. Double-walled boilers have stainless steel paddle stirrer in shape of airscrew. Electric motor and gear box are service-free. Stirring device doesn't require any maintenance except cleaning. Button switch installed into the control board is included. Electric motor is connected with supply cable to electric network.

Gas burner with total power of 90 kW

Gas burners are delivered in two versions and more heating outputs. Burner's output is always modified according to the size of boiler. Burners are semi-automatic and equipped with piezo ignition unit and thermo breaker which controls flame burning. Burners are delivered including distribution box with circuit breaker, with burning alarm, control board and button for unlocking the breakdown. Burner is also equipped adjusting valve with scale for hand operating of burner's output. Burner's supply has main gas valve. Gas heating is used for both single-walled and double-walled boilers. All the necessary documents about transacted revision are also delivered. Gas supply to distilling technology is always ensured by customer.

The draft diverter

Gas boilers with atmospheric burners must be connected through the chimney draught interrupter for ensuring the venting. Chimney draught interrupters are placed above thermal exchanger or at height of 1 m above the neck of venting from furnace of boiler. Interrupters must ensure the following functions:

  • limit the influence of changeable chimney draught to the burning process in boiler
  • make it easy start of boiler within low chimney draught
  • prevent reverse venting from chimney to boiler Used material is stainless steel sheet with thickness of 1.5 mm, surface is sanded, height is 350 mm.

Three-stage adjusting column

Adjusting column is cylindrical extension with 250 mm diameter. Number of adjusting trays is optional. The most delivered are three or four-stage columns. Each tray works independently. Spirit vapors are penetrating through them and water is separated there. This way the vapors are upgraded with ethanol and go into the dephlegmator then. Particular adjusting trays are possible to put out of process with final influence to quality and character of spirit. Each adjusting tray has sight glass DN100, rinsing nozzle and draining nozzle. Adjusting column always includes dephlegmator with thermometer at water input and output. Dephlegmator consists from bundle of stainless steel tubes in cooling bath. This is the most important part of distilling column. Backflow (reflux) is ensured by automatic thermo valve. As much we cool down the spirit vapors as high is content of alcohol in distillate. Upper part of extension has steam dome with nozzle for rinsing the dephlegmator and thermometer for measuring of spirit vapor's temperature. Onto steam dome is welded screw union DN50 for vapor exhausting into the cooler. Adjusting column can be also equipped with catalyzer which is installed between dephlegmator and steam dome. Used materials are copper sheet with thickness of 2 mm, stainless steel flanges with thickness of 5 mm, stainless steel eye-sight, rubber sealing and brass. Copper surface is polished.

Electric lighting

Electric lighting of distilling column is offered for surcharge. This is not only the aesthetical element. Electric lighting of adjusting column and distilling boiler makes easier cleaning and rinsing the column and boiler. According to number of adjusting trays is delivered for column and distilling boiler appropriate number of lights (output of spot light is 20 W). Electric supply is 230V and along with control and switch is a part of switch-board.

Cooler (with thermovalve Danfoss)

Distilling technology must be equipped with stainless steel tube cooler. Its height and diameter depends on volume of boiler. In upper part of cooler is input neck (screw union) DN50 for supply of alcoholic vapors. These vapors are going through the airlock to tube cooler where they condense to distillate. In bottom part of cooler condensed distillate flows into try box which is attached to cooler with screw union DN20. In order to have approximate temperature of alcoholic vapors so thermometer is placed in upper part of cooler. Part of cooler is also bimetallic thermometer for measuring water temperature between inner and outer wall. Cooler is equipped with thermovalve for fluent automatic regulation of fresh cooling water supply. If temperature of alcoholic vapors grows valve automatically opens water supply into cooling unit. This cooler doesn't require any operation during the distilling process. Waste cooling water is going though thermovalve into dephlegmator. Delivery also includes stainless steel console for attaching cooler onto the wall or stand for free-standing version. Used material is stainless steel sheet with thickness of 2 mm, stainless steel profile 30x30 mm, stainless steel tube with diameters of 14, 16, 18, 20 and 28 mm. Cooler has ground surface.

Trybox and tank for faints

Stainless steel try box is using screw union connected to cooler and measures continuously alcohol content and temperature of outgoing distillate. Alcoholometer is immersed into try box body and floats on level of actual distillate. Alcoholometer is protected by glass cover bulb which is plumbed as well as other screw connections of this system. Try box is delivered including alcoholometer and thermometer. Specific quantity of faints is then drained away to retainer with volume of 3 liters. This operation is very important and it depends on staff and their experience at what ratio the faints are drained away. It always depends on quality of distilled ferment, usually it is 0.5-1% of the total volume of distilled ferment. Try box is produced from stainless steel sheet with thickness of 2 mm, stainless steel tubes with diameters of 50 and 28 mm, glass and rubber sealing. Outer stainless steel surface is sanded.

Distributing and connecting piping

Very important part of distilling column is distribution and connecting tubing. Particularly it is main changing stainless steel tubing DN50 between distilling column and cooler. Then it is also stainless steel tubing (dia.114 mm) for draining the faints (max. length 1.5 m). Connecting copper tubing to dephlegmator, connection of rinsing nozzles of column and master tank for ferment. Then also connection to fresh water supply, connection of tubing for draining the faints and connecting the alcoholometer. Used materials are stainless steel with diameters of 114 mm, 50 mm, 28 mm, copper with diameters of 22 and 28 mm. Outer surface is mechanically cleaned.

CALPEDA pump

A high-pressure Calpeda 2CDX centrifugal pump made from AISI 304 stainless steel is incorporated for switching over to the rinsing system cycle (so-called verification). The pump is suitable for use in slightly aggressive environments and for the pumping of slightly aggressive liquids. These centrifugal pumps are also suitable for use in the food industry and in filtration systems. The pump is connected to the draining valve of the boiler from which it draws in liquid (solution) and subsequently forces the liquid under pressure into the rotary jets of the rinsing system. With this circulation system you can achieve a high-quality clean of the equipment and so the production of high-quality distillate.

Passivation of copper surfaces

This is an area treatment of the copper surfaces of the boiler, lid, distilling column, dephlegmator and steam dome. Passivation increases the resistance of copper surfaces to oxidation and oxidizing and contact corrosion.
